about
The Kominas release No Fun, produced and recorded by Marco Buccelli, best known for his work with Xenia Rubinos.
The song is impressively pessimistic, even for 2017. Gone are the summery vibes of 2016's Stereotype; in their place is this slab of Bauhausian art rock. The drums and bass sulk while the guitars creep up the walls sideways.
This dirge offers a glimpse into the four crooked heads that created it. Better yet, the cover photo depicts Basim with a broken skull, four months after plummeting nearly 20 feet head first onto concrete in 1990. Thankfully, he, like the rest of the Kominas, lived to grow up damaged. Other kids in California thought Basim jumped on purpose. Sometimes he played into that, because in the Bay Area, only blondes can be victims. They all carried on
lyrics
Fun
I'm having so much fun
I'm having no fun
I'm having so much fun
I'm having no fun
I'm having so much fun
I'm having no fun
I'm having so much fun
Not
When you're
Being hunted
For fun
No Fun! No Fun!
I'm having so much fun
I'm having no fun
I'm having so much fun
I'm having no fun
I'm having so much fun
I'm having no fun
I'm having so much fun
No Fun
When you're
Being hunted
For sport
Its no fun! No Fun! No Fun! No Fun! No Fun!
It's not fun anymore when you're being hunted for sport
And a man knocks down your door
Its not fun for the kids
And not good for the community
Even the fucking dog isn't having any fun
